I agree with what you wrote here. I have some mild disagreements with some of the content of that linked article though. Such as George Church’s comments about dyslexia and autism. I think it’s likely that the “beneficial” characteristics of people with those conditions are not dependent on the negative ones. And in some cases like high functioning autism, I believe it’s a “missing microbes” issue, and they are also missing certain pathogens that result in “negative traits”. You can restore the beneficial microbes alone and eliminate the “negative traits” while preserving, and likely enhancing the “positive” ones.
